So since making it bigger is not an option, it's landlocked... and reconfiguring it is not an option, we decided to make the most of what we call our "one butt bathroom". We had this light wood colored cheapo looking vanity that had many places where the finish was scratched/peeled off (and what's with the fake drawers). And the walls were kinda half painted, but with lots of missed spots. The hardware was all ugly gold (including the light fixture) and basically there wasn't much redeeming about it other than a nice big shower which we like.
Okay, enough complaining about the small bathroom. I decided to change it. The first thing I did was reorganize the counter, decluttering and putting a suction cup thing on the mirror for extra storage. I also painted the walls a couple months ago, to match the shower curtain and our bedroom. We had also painted all of the towel racks to match. So I got a wild hair one day and decided to stain the vanity. Being a beginner at the whole staining thing, I read the directions carefully and just went to town. I sanded, stained/wiped (3 coats). Then I polyeurothaned the next day. The end result: WOW! What a difference the vanity makes! The whole thing was probably a total of like $20 and I feel like we have a whole new bathroom! It was very easy and I LOVE IT!
So here's some pictures of my new master bathroom that is still small but not looks as "decorated" as the rest of the house! (I always forget to take "before" pictures, but trust me, they're not worth looking at)
Oh yeah, I spray painted the light fixture too, it's chocolate brown but I took these pictures at night, so I had to have the lights on... Trust me, it looks way better than ugly gold.
This one kinda shows the color of the vanity now.

I also spray painted the hardware chocolate brown, a huge improvement over the gold. Jeremy is convinced that I am on a quest to remove all gold finishes from this house... He may be right...
