We went on vacation last week with Jeremy's family to the Lake of the Ozarks, MO. It was Anna's first vacation and we definitely enjoyed ourselves!
Here are the highlights in pictures:
| Anna did great in the car on the drive! No major meltdowns and lots of great naps! Of course Minnie helped with that! |
| Swimming every single day. This child LOVES the pool! Here she's with Nana. Sela, Uncle Joey, Daddy, and Uncle Jason are playing too! |
Anna figured out how to splash while we were there. She enjoyed playing with her keys and splashing all of us in the face! She didn't even mind it getting in her face. I'm pretty sure she could spend all day every day in the water!
| We were each in charge of dinner one evening. We made homemade pizza roll-ups. But the condo didn't have a rolling pin so I improvised... I used the bottle of vodka instead... |
| The first night there, Anna slept great but woke up super early (we have blackout shades in her room, but the condo didn't). So we went for a family walk to avoid waking the rest of the condo up. It was beautiful on the lake and since it had been 100+ degrees in the afternoons it was nice to get out before it was beastly hot. |
| She's so happy! |
| Can't beat that, taking a nap in the pool |
| The men and Sela went jet skiing! Daddy and Uncle Jason are in the front jet ski and Uncle Joey and Sela are in the back one. |
| Hanging out in the frog raft with daddy! |
| Papa wanted a roasted marshmallow but it was too hot outside. So he roasted it (a giant marshmallow too) with a knife on an ELECTRIC stove! Now that takes talent and creativity. |
| We went out to dinner twice and Anna enjoyed squealling in her stroller at the table. Anywhere we go she makes sure that everyone pays attention to her. Her squeals are incredibly high pitched and they only have one volume... LOUD! |
And since the room was lighter than she was used to and mom and dad were in the same room and it was unfamiliar surroundings, she ended up in our bed each morning... This particular morning, she took over my half and I quickly gave up and did some laundry. I was becoming a little concerned that we'd have a hard time getting her back in her bed when we got home, but she surprised us and sleeps better than ever in her bed, I certainly can't complain with a 5 month old who sleeps 12 hours straight at night, in her own bed and prefers it that way!
| Finally the mandatory family picture on the lake. This is from our condo's screened in porch. We had a wonderful time with Jeremy's family and Anna got spoiled with lots of attention and a few trips to the Outlet mall where we found fantastic sales at the Cart.er's outlet, including a really adorable dress that she'll be wearing to my cousin's wedding tomorrow! Thanks Nana and Papa for the vacation, it was great to spend time with family! |
