1 Month Old

Our sweet little Anthony is 1 month old (as of this past Saturday).

At his last check up, a week ago, he was 10lbs, 3 oz.  The same size his sister was at 2 months old...  He's a big boy!  The doctor wanted to do a weight check at 1 month since he'd had RSV.  She said usually that decreases their appetite and sometimes they have problems with weight gain when they get sick that young.  Not this boy.  He's an eater.  He'd gained a whole pound since he'd had RSV so she said no need for future weight checks, just regular check-ups!

Like I said, he's an eater.  He's currently eating anywhere from 2-4 oz, usually about 3, like every 2 hours.  Sometimes he'll go three hours, but sometimes he'll only go an hour and a half.  And he gets MAD when he's hungry.  There's generally no warning.  Most nights he'll sleep a 5-6 hour stretch, eat, and then sleep another 3 hour stretch.

We discovered last night that thunderstorms definitely bother him.  He woke up EVERY time it thundered.  It was a long night.  It even bothered him over the sound of his sound machine which is on as high as it can go.  We were just surprised since we've never even worried about storms bothering Anna, she sleeps through EVERYTHING!  He's usually a really sound sleeper, but something about the thunder startled him every time!

He's holding his head up really well.  He's a strong little dude.  He definitely loves to look around, he doesn't want to miss anything exciting!  He's not really a cuddly baby, he'd rather be moving and checking out his surroundings.  He likes to lay on the foor and roll from side to side and he grabs onto anything near him and pulls it to his face.

He LOVES blankets.  When he's playing, he will grab any blanket near him and tuck it up by his face.  He has to have one in his carseat or he screams, no matter the temperature outside.

He's still swaddled at night.  However, he was recently evicted from our room.  He's a NOISY sleeper!  Man, we were all keeping each other up.  We moved him to a temporary bedroom (I'll post about our Musical Bedrooms sometime soon).  He's still in his Rock and Play, but he's sleeping awesome in his own space.  Both of our kids have liked sleeping in their own spaces.  And frankly, as much as I want them close, we all sleep better that way.

Overall he's a very happy, very healthy baby.  He doesn't seem like he's only a month old, most people assume he's older.  He's bright eyed and absolutely gorgeous and we're totally in love with our Anthony Xavier.  We're so thankful to have him in our family!  He's a fantastic little brother and he's very tolerant of his sister's desire to share EVERYTHING with him (including, but not limited to: sippy cups, toys, food, holy cards, blankets, Gee-Gees (her giraffe) and baby spoons).  We're working on it :-).

So sweet. He seems so far advanced for one month. Isaiah has always been a little behind in size (only 7 lbs at one month) and didn't grab at anything until over 5 months.

Love, love, love!!!
Yes, Luke isn't quite as active yet (I'm so impressed with Anthony's activities and sleeping!), so I'm loving your updates! You have a very healthy (and VERY cute) baby!!!
