Yesterday was one of those "nothing is going my way" kind of days. The kids were cranky, probably because it had been cold and rainy all week so we'd been cooped up inside. It was hot and humid. I was grumpy. We'd been dealing with some birthmom drama all week. The garage door finally caved in and just stopped working, with the van inside. We ran out of milk... and formula... meaning I had to take both kids, by myself, to the grocery store. I dealt with more poop in the first 3 hours of the day than I ever care to in a week. Which led me to discover that we definitely don't have enough one-size diapers to diaper two kids for a whole day. My lawn looked like no one had cut it in a year. And my hubby's actuary exam is next Thursday. Meaning, I haven't talked to him in weeks. He's been home for just an hour each evening to eat dinner and help get the kids to bed and it's back to studying.
Okay, I'm done complaining. Thankfully, everything worked itself out. I had to suck it up and ask for some help. My dad came over and mowed my lawn for me. We got the garage door replaced today. My hubby realized that I was over-stressed and hitting my max and decided to give up his evening of studying to help me catch up on the laundry, dishes, and sit and relax with me (including a much needed foot rub). And I picked up a frozen pizza for dinner while I was grocery shopping. We ordered a few more diapers that I'll pick up today, and opening brand new cloth diapers in super fun prints and colors always makes me smile :-). And putting them on cute bums makes me even happier :-).
So in short (well, really there was nothing short about it) I had a rough week. But in the end, with a little help, it all worked out and we've had a really good day today. Complete with fun art projects with the kiddos and some dance time!
Less than a week and my hubby's done studying for a few months! Whew! And we're planning a family date out! We're ready to spend some family of four time together and have a real conversation!
And less than a week and Julie comes home from Spain! We all miss her a ton and can't wait to see her! And I know she can't wait to meet her nephew and see her niece!
The kids all ended up with matching outfits on one day. Okay, Anna and Anthony were matched on purpose, but Luke happeend to show up with the same colors on! It doesn't get any cuter!
My sweet baby boy will be a month old tomorrow! I can't believe how big he's getting! But he'll get a whole one month post all to his own :-).
I know I talk about cloth diapers a lot, but I love them. Specifically the BumGenius Freetime. It makes cloth diapering two kids so easy. No stuffing, no leaking, easy to use, easy to clean, and they fit both of my babies perfectly! And I can't even imagine how much money we'd spend in diapers if we used disposables. Seriously, these kids poop a lot!
I was able to have a really nice chat with J, Anthony's birthmom. And I also chatted with her mom, D. We're all on the same page now. I think I helped her understand the need for compromise. We knew going into this adoption, that J may be a little high maintenence. It's turning out to be true. However, when I look at my Anthony, I kmow I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. And I we really do get along very well with J. There will be challenging moments along the way. But it's all worth it in the end!

I'm so sorry for all the stress you've had! Managing 2 kids, the housE and a studying husband ... and poop!!! Its nice for a break and a foot massage ... it makes all things better. I hope your hubby does food on his exams! I have a cousin taking actuary exams. I know they are super hard.
Love all the kiddo pics and can't wait for the 1 month post!
I hope your hubby does *good*, not food. Oh my ... Spellcheck!
Oh gosh! We have days/weeks like that with just one baby, I can't imagine with THREE! (Including Luke :) ). And oh boy is our Godson cute! We are SO looking forward to meeting him and seeing the rest of you next weekend. I'm seriously counting down! :)
Tell Jer good luck on his exam for us! :)
Oh, and I totally agree about BG Freetime!! I like my favorite diapers are the elementals, but the Freetimes are a close second!! I like BG soooo much more than Rumparooz, I'm hoping to eventually have more BG than RAR, but I can't justify buying 20 BG just because I don't really like my RAR, you know?
What a week!
