Adoption Attempt #1 = failed...

Well, our worst fears came true today when we heard from our caseworker that the birth mom has changed her mind.  She is planning on taking the baby home with her tomorrow when she's discharged.

Please keep us in your prayers as this is extremely hard for us to deal with.  We are very upset and feel very hurt and even a little bit used.

We appreciate everyone's support and prayers as we deal with all of our emotions and figure out where to go from here.

I'm so sorry for your loss, your family will be in our hearts and prayers. I hope that you find the courage to grieve for the loss of 'your' child - don't let anyone convince you otherwise. We lost our first child very early in pregnancy, and no matter what you try to tell yourself, losing a child is losing a child. Sadly, this child cannot be 'replaced' by another, so please please please take heart, and don't let anyone convince you that 'it will be alright' because 'you'll have another baby soon'.

Praise the Lord for the little boy that his mother chose him. Chosenness is a great act of love, isn't it? The little one you eventually welcome into your family will be chosen, too, much like the Lord chose you.
