Walking/Running: Well, when you learn to walk at 9 months old, you naturally have to start running at at 11... She tries so hard to run. Unfortunately for her, her head goes faster than her feet... She face plants a lot. She's so tough though. She never cries, just gets back up and does it again! She never crawls anymore, it is all walking. And she prefers to walk anywhere we go now which can often present a challenge. But anywhere we go a billion people stop us to say how cute she is and how little she looks to be walking.
Eating: She's turned into kind of a picky eater... I don't know when it happened or why, I think it had something to do with the stomach flu she had. Veggies/fruits? Forget it... I have to hide them right now. Dairy? She's all for it. Her favorites right now would be cottage cheese and eggs. She'll eat eggs in any form. She LOVES them! So I put veggies in her cottage cheese and fruit in her yogurt and she doesn't know any different. But she's definitely a good eater. The child loves her food!
Teeth: I forgot in my original post, but I can finally post about teeth! Anna got her first tooth at 10 months old. She the quickly got a second and now a third. She has two on bottom, one on top. I hope she continues to be this easy of a teether, we didn't even know she was getting two in at once...
Talking: This is the big one this last month. All of the sudden she's copying everything we say. She doesn't necessarily know what she's saying most of the time, but she's definitely copying anyway. Some words she's got figured out. Right now she says: Mama, Dada, Gigi (giraffe), up, down, out, more, yes, ta-da, Na-Na (For Anna, she talks about herself a lot :-), and noggin. We're not sure what noggin means, but she says it all day long! My favorite is when she says "up". She'll stand at the stairs and say "up, up" and when we let her climb the stairs, she says "up" the whole way. She'll also ask us to pick her up now. She also says "out" when she stands at the door and whe she's in her carseat (that one drives me a little crazy in the car...)
Favorites: Giraffe is still her favorite anything. She carries that silly thing around all day everyday. She won't sleep without it, won't be quiet in Mass without it, won't ride in the car without it, etc...
Her favorite person right now is definitely Dada... As I type this, she's helping him make pancakes. If dada's doing it, she wants to be a part of it. She follows him around, cries when he won't pick her up, cries when he leaves. It's pretty sweet. She also loves Mama of course, she will just come up and hug me and then go about playing. But at the moment, she's a daddy's girl totally!
She LOVES to dance. Music of any kind brings out the dancing shoes. She will dance all day long!
She loves "forts". She loves her princess tent, she frequently hangs out under the kitchen table. She'll go off and find a dark corner and sit and giggle with her giraffe. She likes to hide behind ottomans or anything that feels "fort-like". And she likes to pop out and play peek-a-boo.
Happy 11 Months Anna! You're such a blessing in our lives!
