So one of my goals this year is to lose weight and get healthier. I don't post much about it, it's something I've struggled with for a long time, but I don't really like to talk about it...
However, I'm excited this week because after a week on Wei.ght Wa.tchers, I've lost five pounds! I'm proud of the work I've done. Not only that, but Jeremy has lost 5 pounds as well, something he's been working at.
I started losing weight at the beginning of last year. I was doing really well and then "surprise" we were parents without any notice. Eating became something I merely did because I had to, without much thought about what it was I was eating. Working out was a thing of the past, and a routine had to be established.
This year, I'm stickin with it. I'm not making any excuses. I don't necessarily care about the amount of weight lost, I'm never going to be skinny, but I can be healthy.
Last week it was eating better, this week I'm adding in my workouts again. This is where I struggle, I HATE to work out, I HATE to sweat. But I'm gonna do it anyway. Maybe if I write it and post it, I'll be more motivated to stick with it.
I don't like to let self-image get in the way of living my life, but unfortunately it has. I don't like to feel like the "fat" mom with all my friends. I don't like to look in my closet and hate my clothes because of their size and the rolls they don't hide. Sadly it's a reality that I live with and have struggled with for most of my life. I'm determined to not let it any longer.
So there, I've put it out there, now it's up to me to do something about it.

karen, fantastic job on the 5lbs! it's so motivating! you are definitely not alone in the weight struggle. I've deemed myself the 'fat mom' of my group of mom friends for a long time. I've also made it a goal for the new year! It has been very difficult taking baby weight off after Liam :( No more excuses! :) Isn't it so funny, I didn't realize how people 'forgot' to eat until I became a mom, it is so easy to! Especially when you are at home, like you are, tending to every single minor need! Just wanted to let you know that someone is cheering for you! Have a very happy new year!!
Wonderful! Way to go on your 5 lb loss!!!
I don't like to exercise either. :-) post what you like if you find something that isn't too exercise-y.
I am going to try to eat more healthy, but working out is going to have to be confined to taking care of a 19 month old and a baby and the million trips up the stairs to change 20 diapers a day and put the paci in Isaiah's mouth at least a few times for each "nap".
My new rule, if I can get my husband to agree is to NOT BUY CEREAL. I have a habit of eating that for meals because it is quick and easy, as I don't have much time for eating other things with being a mama to these 2 babies.
Cereal is NOT a good meal and I am hungry later because it doesn't satisfy me for long.
Now, if I could come up with tasty easy foods to eat fast! HUM! Any suggestions?
