Quick Takes Friday (21)

--- 1 ---
I stripped my cloth diapers yesterday.  It's such a satisfying feeling (I know, my sisters will make fun of me for saying that, but it's totally the truth)!  We had been having a few stink issues with our hemp inserts for nighttime.  I contacted the company, they told me how to take care of it, and voila!  Stink issues gone!  I'm such a neat freak that a good deep clean like this, no matter what it is, always feels really good.

--- 2 ---
I have days of super productivity, like yesterday.  I stay on top of dishes, laundry, diaper changes, meals, bottles, etc...  And I have days of simply trying to survive.  I had a mix this week.  I just try to take full advantage of the productive days when they come!  And I try not to beat myself up over the days where I got nothing done (you know, except taking care of three kids and trying to maintain some resemblence of order!)

--- 3 ---
Anna is such a fantastic big sister.  After her naps or first thing in the morning, the first thing she does is look for Anthony.  She pets his head, gives him a hug, and asks to "hold" him.  It makes me so happy to see her as a good big sister!  We thought she'd have a hard time adjusting, and she is proving us totally wrong!

--- 4 ---
The two things I cannot seem to stay on top of are dishes and poop.  Seriously, these kiddos poop more than any human beings should!  Everytime I turn another baby is poopy!  I guess they're all very regular, that's good, right?  And the dishes just never stop.  We run our dishwasher like twice a day now to stay on top of bottles and sippy cups.  And it's FULL every single time.  15 months ago, we ran it like twice a week!  What a difference a year makes!

--- 5 ---
Anna is 14 months old tomorrow.  And my dad turns 50 tomorrow!  We're having a big birthday party for him tonight!  And Anthony is already 3 weeks old!  And it seems like he's been part of our family forever.  It's just amazing how fast they grow and change!

--- 6 ---
We went to celebrate Jeremy's grandpa's 91st birthday last weekend.  We went to his cousin's house and they had lots of fun outdoor stuff.  Anna just LOVED it!

This was Anthony's perch the whole time.  He loves being worn.

--- 7 ---
Since Anna loved the outdoor stuff so much, we are searching yard sales this summer for a playhouse or slide or some fun thing for the backyard.  I'm excited because our neighborhood garage sales are coming up in a few weeks!  And people sell a lot of good stuff in our neighborhood!

And on that note, we finally sold my old bedroom set.  It was just too much furniture for Anna's big girl room and we sold it for enough to cover new furniture for her.  I can't wait to repaint and design her big girl room this summer!  We also bought a toddler bed for $10 on Crai.gsli.st, and it's in super good condition!  And a friend has an extra mattress from her twins.  So Anna will be transitioning to a toddler bed soon.  I think she's ready and will do really well.  She adjusts well to new "big girl" type things.  She loves things that give her more independence.  We didn't want to have to buy a second crib.  So hopefully the transition is easy :-)  I have a feeling Anthony will be like Anna and will want out of our room and in his crib here shortly.  They're very similar sleepers.

Anna is gorgeous! I love the photos of her.

Please share how you "strip" the diapers. I have been clothi diapering for many many years and was doing what I thought would strip them, but I can't get out the smell for baby number five. Maybe I need new diapers. Please share!

Yes, please share how you stripped your diapers. Mine could use it as well. Your kids are so adorable. I am glad she is adjusting to being a big sister so well.

I need help with stripping, too!! I've just been rinsing mine in really hot water, but they STILL stink. Although, I just found out that we have hard water, so I need to switch detergents.

I'm glad Anna is such a great big sister! Love the pics of you and the kiddos!
I need to get a baby carrier so we can "wear" Luke. It would be much easier to have both hands free.
And poop x 3 ... oh my!
