Anthony - 9 Months Old

First of all, obviously, I'm now uploading pictures again.  I had to switch browsers, but they're working again thank goodness!  After I post this, I'll be adding them to my last post, my hubby said it hurt his eyes with all those words and no pictures :-)

On to Anthony!  My big boy is 9 months old now!   He's such a sweet and happy boy!  We had his 9 mo check up last week and he weighed in at 18lbs, 2oz and I can't remember his inches...  His height was 50th percentile and his head and weight were both 45th.  So he's right on target, pretty much where he's been all along.

Developmentally, he was right on target (definitely not my over-achiever, but still within the normal range).  He's been waving hi and bye now for a while and has started clapping.  It's adorable.  He also loves to make his pow-wow noise where he pats his hand on his mouth while making noise.  We laugh every morning as we wake up to a pow wow from our son.  He's attempting to become mobile.  He gets up on his knees but can't quite figure out what to do with his arms.  I'm grateful he's stayed stationary as long as he had, Anna is a lot to keep up with.  But we're ready for him to start moving, he's in that phase where he's getting frustrated that he can't go get things on his own.
The only milestone he didn't reach at this appointment was picking up small things (like food).  He just sits in his high chair with his mouth wide open expecting us to feed him (and we do, of course, but it doesn't make it less frustrating...).  He has no desire to try to pick his food up on his own.  But he does eat table food great.

Speaking of food, we had him allergy tested last week after a random throwing up once a day stretch.  All of the foods we tested for came back negative, so thankfully he's not allergic to milk, wheat, eggs, etc...  He does have a horrible time with blood draws (like his mommy) and it was quite traumatic.  But we're glad his eczema and random throwing up don't seem to be caused by an allergy.

Anthony is finally starting to use his legs.  We called him noodle legs for a long time because he just refused to use them at all.  He's using them great now (we knew he could all along, he just chose not to).  And now he'll stand up against things if we put him up there.  He's not pulling up on his own yet, but it's only a matter of time...

Anna had to join the fun.

Anthony's favorite toys are links and he loves to play with cars (he got a lot for Christmas).  He absolutely LOVES playing with Anna and they regularly having laughing matches.  They'll just sit down across from each other and crack up for 10 minutes.  It's adorable and so beautiful to see them getting along so well.  Anna loves to share with him and he eats up any and all attention from her.

He's become quite a Mama's boy in the last few months and lately if I have the audacity to walk out of his sight, he promptly melts down.  And he prefers if I hold him all the time lately.  So he spends a lot of time on my back in a carrier.

He continues to be a great sleeper, going to bed around 7pm and sleeping until 6-7am.  He's finally stopped getting up for a 4-5:00 bottle.  He naps from like 8:30-9:30 and 12-2:30 every day.  He wakes up incredibly happy and is hilarious right after his naps.

He's eating everything.  He LOVES to eat and begs to eat all day long.  It's a daily goal to fill my kids up.  Not an easy task around here!  He still drinks 5 bottles a day.  We've introduced a sippy cup and he's done fantastically.  He loves it and drinks from it great!

I can't believe I'm starting to plan their birthday party.  It's sneaking up on me and I want time to slow down!  But I'm so blessed to be raising such beautiful, happy children and I enjoy each day with them!

Oh my gosh. So cute and so big!

I have been reading all your posts, but because I rarely get on the computer anymore, I can't comment much...my phone does not let me because you have word verification on your comments.

I loved all your adoption q and a's too! Too much typing for me to do on my phone, so pretty sure I won't have time to do those anytime soon.

Luke doesn't wave hi or bye yet, but I'm betting that is super cute! We have been having our fill of "only mama gets to hold me all the time" days here at our house too. I'd put him in a carrier, but he's such a wiggle worm that he'd try and get out. He's a crawling maniac and has to be into everything.
I love Anthony's update and all the pics! He is SOOOO adorable! <3
