Friday Quick Takes (45)

--- 1 ---
Jeremy and I went on our first date 10 years ago yesterday.  One day, the shyest kid in school walked up to me before homeroom and asked me if I'd like to go to Pack the Pit with him. This involved a our school's annual spaghetti dinner and basketball game.  I had already made plans with another friend, but she quickly told me to go with him instead (thanks Erin!).  We went on our first date.  It was exactly a week later that he asked me out.

Jeremy and I going to Prom just a few months after we starting dating.
And now celebrating 10 years later with our children.

Anthony loves to eat!

And so does Anna!

This is our 11 Pack the Pit together!  The kids had a blast watching the basketball game!

It was hard to get the kids to take their eyes off the game for a picture.

We had an Anthony revelation this week.  He has yet to figure out how to pick food up off of his tray and put it in his mouth.  He can pick food up.  And he can put things in his mouth.  But putting the two together is far too difficult apparently.  So instead of bite size pieces (Anna's preferred food method), I just gave him big hunks of food the other day.  And he ate them all.  By himself.  He ate a few apple slices, some sweet potato fries, and a few long strips of bread.  And I didn't have to put it in his mouth for him.  I bet I can actually eat my dinner now!

And boy is he happy about it!

Anna likes to copy the babies all day.  Here she is participating in structured tummy time.  She cracks me up!

Sometimes the mess overwhelms me.  Other times I remind myself what a beautiful mess it really is.  I'm so glad I have these crazy kids to mess up my house.

However that's not what I'm saying when I step on a MegaBlock in the dark late at night.  I have two perfectly shaped circle bruises on the bottom of my foot...

We had quite the week with our toddler.  One night she threw a super heavy toy cookie jar right at her brother from about a foot away (after being told not to throw toys).  That left a nice goose egg on his forehead...  Yesterday I had to call Jeremy and have him come home from work to put her down for a nap. I'd tried for an hour and a half with nothing but ringing ears from the scream that is so high pitched it makes the neighbors' dogs bark.  I literally couldn't do it anymore.  Not to mention, she woke the other two up from their naps...

And then she wakes up and says "Sowwwyyy Mommy, huck?" And I melt.  She is way too smart and totally knows how to sucker you into a hug.  That's now her go-to.  She doesn't want to sit on the potty so she says "Huck!"  in the cutest voice ever.  She doesn't want to eat her vegetables, "Huck".  What she hasn't learned is that yes, we will give her a hug every time she asks, but she'll still have to do whatever it is we asked her to do!

Have a great weekend!

First of all ... how CUTE are you two??!!?? :-D I love this picture! It must be so fun to look back on those memories!
I love Anna's tummy time picture! And the cute animals on the babies' bottoms! <3
Hopefully Anna continues to ask for Hucks, but also learns good behavior as well ... sometimes it is so nice when they can't argue back much ... and I haven't seen much of an attitude yet, so that's not something to look forward to!

Isaiah prefers big pieces too, but his reason is because he has no pincher grasp.

Bella just started saying "I love you soooo much" anytime we tell her no or try to put her in a time out...thinking that she is going to win us over! GIRLS!!! LOL!
