Friday Quick Takes (43)

--- 1 ---
For whatever reason, blogger isn't letting me upload any photos at the moment.  I'll hopefully add some in later.
--- 2 ---
Things have been a little crazy around here since January started.  I'm not sure when they'll die down, hopefully soon.  I had a 3 week break from watching the little boy I watch.  It was nice to focus on just my kids in the weeks around Christmas.  And it's been quite an adjustment for all of us having him back, getting back into routine and readjusting to the sharing of attention.
January/February are also Jeremy's busy times at work.  They're required to work overtime, so he's been putting in long hours.

On to more fun things!  We got bunk beds for Anna's room!  She was in a toddler bed, but she was starting to be really hard on it.  I think if she wanted to, she could break the side rails right off, she's pretty strong and they're not made for super strength toddlers, and it was second hand, used for like 4 other kids...  So anyway, in preparation for our Foster-to-Adopt journey, we got bunk beds with a trundle.  She loves her new bed.  And my mom made her a twin sized quilt for Christmas, which she LOVES.  Pictures to come, I hope...  I cried the first night, my baby looked so small in a big bed.  It seems like yesterday she was in a little seat next to our bed.
Assembly.  I actually put the trundle and the first bed together all by myself.  My sweet hubby helped me with the top bunk :-)

All ready for her first night in her new bed!  I cried...

Such a cute little girls' room!

This is how we entertained them while we assembled... Thank you Mickey Mouse.

Anthony turned 9 months old last week!  I can't believe he's that old already.  I'll hopefully write a 9 month post soon, if I ever get his 9 month picture taken (our printer's out of ink and it would bother me to no end to have one month where the month sign was different... I'm anal).  But for now, he was right in the 45-50th percentile in everything which is great.

We are getting Anthony allergy tested for a few things as he's had some random vomitting.  He had the stomach flu back before Thanksgiving when we all did.  He acted sick.  He looked sick.  This time, he's been throwing up like once a day for about a week.  And random looser diapers (not diarrhea, but definitely not normal for him, he usually has constipation problems).  Nothing that lasts all day and it doesn't happen at the same time of day or after the same meals or bottles.  Oh yeah, and no other symptoms.  He has not run a temp and he's been as happy as ever.  We can't pinpoint a certain food, it seems to be random. So we're taking him tomorrow for a blood test and testing for a list of things. Hopefully we can find something out.  Otherwise, his doctor said maybe it's reflux.  I don't know, I hope we figure it out.  I'm tired of cleaning up puke.  And poop.

Anna's vocabulary has exploded lately.  There's nothing she can't or won't say.  We're realizing some of the words/phrases we say often and should probably stop because they're annoying.  Her favorite word of the week is "butt".  I'm so proud...  But we can't help but laugh.  She just randomly says butt, points to her own butt and then covers her mouth with her hands and laughs hysterically.  I don't know where she comes up with some of this stuff!  She's constant entertainment.  She also loves saying "I love you" or "I yub ye".  And today she came up to me, gave me a "huck" (hug) and said "I yub Mama".  It was one of the sweetest things I've ever heard in my life.
Giggling at each other.

My almost-2 year old looking like a teenager in her hoodie and jeans...

I've started planning the kids' birthday party.  It's not for 2 more months, but I'm excited about it.  Their birthdays are only a month apart, so we're just doing one in the middle of March.  I can't believe my babies will be 2 and 1.

Love the bunk beds! I'll bet Anna does look pretty small in her new bed. :-/ It is cute that she gets a kick out of saying "butt" ... I would laugh too ... I guess you'll just have to laugh a lot. :)
I know what you mean about the "month signs" all looking the same. I'm that way too. Then ... I stopped printing & hand wrote them. Lazy, lazy, lazy. That's me! :)
