Gotcha Day

One year ago today, Agnes and Mya became a part of our family.  It really feels like they've been here all along.  Most people have mentioned that they can't believe it's only been a year.  They just fit.

So much has changed in the last year.  There have been lots of very challenging times.  And there continue to be today.  But there have also been awesome times.  It's been amazing to see them blossom into beautiful young girls.  They're no longer scared or apprehensive.  They no longer worry about where they're going to be moved to next or if we're going to "keep" them or not.

They have found permanency and we've found a new normal.  Our kid count doubled overnight and that made life pretty crazy.  And still today, life continues to be crazy each and every day.  They keep us on our toes.

We never expected it to be easy.  But we also never expected to see such a transformation.  The girls are so very smart and very intuitive.  They love everyone and warm up quickly to people.  They're chatty (oh boy are they chatty) and friendly and always trying to make people feel welcome.

Anna said it best today when she said, "And I got two new sisters, I love my sisters!"

We have four beautiful children and a very happy family.  Our hearts are overflowing with blessings and love for these kids that God has entrusted to us.  And while it certainly hasn't been easy, the rewards have been countless.
