Herb Garden

My MIL is always very creative when it comes to gifts of any kind. For my birthday this year she got me everything I need to make my own indoor herb garden! I've talked about doing this now since we've had our house and just haven't gotten to it. So now is the perfect opportunity!

She got the big container to hold all of the individual pots. She also got me the potting mix and special "food" for them. As well as some seeds for parsley, basil, mint, majoram, and rosemary. There were some sheers to cut the herbs off also, as well as a squirt bottle for misting. She also (knowing my psycho organization tendencies) got me labels and a special pen that is waterproof. Finally she researched the best way to do all of this and is sending me all of the information!

I can't wait to get planting (and organizing)!

Also gifts for my birthday, from my mom (well, and my dad, but I don't think he had much to do with picking them out :-)), were a mat and rotary cutter as well as squares for measuring and straight edges for cutting all of my sewing stuff! They also got me some photo organizers and a photo album for my scrapbooking!

Jeremy got me a Bear's T-shirt, flowers, and once again attempted his annual cookie cake. This year he succeeded in making an edible cake that was very yummy and delicious. He also got me an ice cream cake. It was very sweet to come home after baby-sitting to find that he had worked very hard to make a cookie cake again this year. It's kind of his tradition, but we like to laugh because in years past his efforts (while appreciated) have not yet yielded edible cookie cakes... He persevered this year and even decorated it with homemade icing (that he made) and used my cake decorating tools!

I'd say he did a pretty fantastic job! Thanks hubby! And thanks everyone for the birthday wishes! (Now if only I could get a late birthday phone call about a baby that is waiting for us...)

UPDATE: I just couldn't wait to put it all together, so here are all of my little seeds ready for some sunlight! It'll be 2-3 weeks before they sprout, so lets hope I don't kill them between now and then :-)!

I LOVE my rotary cutters, mat, straight edges, etc. They are amazing! You'll love yours, too! And it's one of my (many) dreams to have an herb garden when we have a house, God willing! We're keeping you and Jeremy in prayer as you wait for that much-anticipated phone call.
