I'm not big on New Year's Resolutions. Mostly it's because I don't like to just do something everyone else is doing...
However, I do appreciate the chance for new beginnings and a fresh start.
Advent is always a great time for me to get my spiritual life back on track. We did a lot of fun and fruitful Advent activities as a family. We really streamlined our family prayer time and the kids and Jeremy and I really enjoy that family time together. So as far as the new Church year, my new beginnings had already started.
For 2015, there are a few things that I'd like to continue to work on with myself and my family.
The first would be to continue working out regularly. I've been going 4-6 times a week since last March. It's been very beneficial to my health and I've lost 25lbs doing it. I'd like to double (or more) that weight loss now and really get myself back on track. There are a few things I'd like to get taken care of when I go for my yearly check-up (some hormone tests and such) that I've been putting off.
I'm considering doing a Whole30 at some point, but right now may not be the best time due to some travel and things we have coming up. However, I'm going to do what I can to be gluten, dairy, and sugar free (or way low). Mostly for dinners, as that's where I have to plan ahead the most. I'm used to eating omelettes for breakfast and simply cutting out the cheese will make do the trick. For lunch I always have a salad, so I'll need to change dressings, but that's all. And I rarely snack (I don't have time to snack) but if I do, I eat apples or other fruit usually, so that's not a big issue.
In addition to all of that, I'm just going to focus on continuing to run my home and spend quality time with my family. Make the most of every day and enjoy the ages of my kids right now.
We shall see what 2015 has in store for our family!!
