Rainy Afternoon

It was a rainy Sunday here.  Something we welcome big time in this drought!  So instead of our usual Sunday walk, we baked.  We made chocolate chip M&M cookies and banana bread.  Anna had a blast helping and Anthony LOVED watching us!  It was a really fun evening and we always enjoy our family time.  These babies just make me so happy!

Reading me the recipe

Helping mom measure.  She also enjoyed tasting various ingredients.

Happy to be helping!  She loves to help count!

She enjoyed cracking the egg until she realized it was messy inside.  My little girly girl doesn't like to get messy!

Mashing bananas.  Well, I'm mashing, Anna's eating them as fast as I can mash them!

Trying to sneak a bite of cookie dough.  Look at that face, she thought she was being so sly!

Tasting the final product!

I think she liked them :-).  The evidence is on her face!

Then it was time for brother's tasting.  Except he just got cereal...  Anna loves to help do anything for Anthony.  Of couse this doesn't exclude feeding him!  I like how Jeremy's mouth is wide open like he's the one getting cereal shoveled in!

And on another note, Anna has been excellent in Mass the last few weeks (a far cry from last month when we spent most of our time outside the church because she was so loud...).  She's trying to participate even.

So today she took a song book, sat with it in her lap, opened it up and started singing.  Except instead of Alleluia or Holy, Holy, Holy, she sang "Pee Pee, Poo Poo, Pot Pot" loudly in the middle of the consecration.  It took everything I had to hold in my laughter.  Think she's got potty on the brain?  Luckily she quickly switched to her ABC's (which she finally sings more than just A, B, B, B, she can now make it all the way to like G).

And we get complimented every week on how good and happy Anthony is.  He is seriously ALWAYS happy.  He doesn't care who holds him, who talks to him, or where he is.  As long as he can spot me in a crowd once in a while, he's golden!  I'm so thankful for my easy going baby!

I love the picture of Anna reading the recipe. It totally looks like she's giving you instructions. And the singing in church - priceless! Such great moments!
