Today was hair doing day for Anna, so I didn't have time for much else. Normally it doesn't take me this long, because I generally stick with twists or corn rows. But two weeks ago, I put in box braids and they were tiny little braids. It didn't take me a whole lot of time to put them in, but getting those suckers out took FOREVER! I need to remind myself of that next time I go for braids. This week she's sporting her princess style. I haven't taken a picture yet, it was past her bedtime when I finished. And I got some new moisturizer and style cream that I really like. We'll see how it holds up this week!

I don't even think I mentioned on my blog that my great-grandma died two weeks ago. She was 101. We're having a short funeral for her tomorrow (she didn't want much done) and we're going out to dinner at her favorite restaurant to celebrate her life. It's neat to think about all of the history that she lived through. In fact, as I was watching Downton Abbey, it dawned on me that my great-grandma was a toddler when the Titanic sank. That time period seems forever ago! That's pretty neat! We learned a lot about history from the stories she told.

I could turn my collection of Anna pictures into a "Where's GeeGee?" book. That silly giraffe is well loved. We have 3 of them, and they're all equally worn out. This picture was from today, after I'd washed, conditioned, detangled, and moisturized her hair. She's got quite the afro!

We spend a lot of time at the library in the evenings. Especially with the weather so cold right now. They have a great discovery room that Anna LOVES to play in. In fact, she gets off of the elevator and runs all the way to the other side of the library, yelling "PLAY!" She doesn't get the whole, "be quiet in a library" concept yet...
Reading books with daddy in the Book Nook.
Ah, she's just too darn cute! This was on the 70 degree January day we had this week. Hence the lack of tights on her legs! It's now like 6 degrees three days later.
Anthony's doing a great job standing up. We have to put him there, but he will stand for a long time. The library's train table is a huge hit with our kids and daddy!
This mirror thing's pretty cool and Anthony's hilarious looking at himself in them. He'll cock his head to both sides to see the Anthony in the different mirrors :-)

Not only is GeeGee an important member of our family, but Minnie and Mickey have become so too. Here she's putting Minnie in the swing and Mickey in the "Bumbi" as she calls it. She was telling Minnie, "It's otay Minnie, don't cry, Anna kiss it". Which meant, of course, that Mickey needed a kiss too. She becomes incredibly offended when I take Minnie or Mickey out to (heaven forbid) put a baby in one of the seats...

Since my daughter's so entertaining, she's monopolizing my Quick Takes today. We seriously laugh all day long at the silly things she does.
We had taco night and I made guacamole. This girl LOVES guacamole. She won't eat avocado plain, but she loves it mashed up with some more flavor! She started with some chips and a little "dip" as she calls it on her plate. She realized that was incredibly inefficient and just went for the big bowl and a spoon.

This happy little guy is my sanity in a day. Anna is incredibly sassy and can push my buttons better than anyone. When she has a challenging day, she goes for the gold and makes sure that I don't get a chance to breathe all day. The little guy I watch can be quite a challenge and he pretty much hates to be held, be put down, or eat, causing lots of frustration. Anthony, on the other hand, is happy pretty much all the time. He doesn't like for his meals to be late (or gone), but other than that, he can be found rolling around, sitting and playing, and pretty much smiling from ear to ear. Frustrating days mean lots of hugs for my happy son, he calms me down and makes me smile and I'm so lucky to be his mom. God is going to do very special things with his infectious smile, that is for sure!

I totally hear you about taking out tiny braids. It takes us 2-4 hours to take Bella's out.
I love all the styles you do with Anna's hair. I wish I had a better knack for online learning, but I really need someone to personally show me how to do hair. Maybe when I am done working...in a year or 2 or 3, I can come visit and you can show me how to do all the fun hair styles!
You are so blessed to have Anthony. Bella is my sanity saver. We do have moments with her, but the other 4 are pretty much always pushing my buttons.
We want spring to come soon! No tights days are just around the corner!!! Hopefully!
Oh, and thanks for removing word verification. I never get on the computer anymore, and it is so fun to comment on your blog!!
I'm so sorry that your Great Grandma passed away. No matter the age, death is always hard. I love the "celebration of her life" that you had at the restaurant. It is the best to remember the good, happy times!
I had to laugh out loud at all your Quick Takes! :-) I'm sure they weren't all meant to be funny, but Anna's stories are quite hilrious! :-D
