Friday Quick Takes (47)

--- 1 ---
Last week, it was warm enough to go to the park (like in the 50s).  We had a blast and I cannot wait for spring/summer with these kiddos!  Anna loved the park last year, she loves it even more now!

Master of the slide!

Master of sitting and watching... (him, not me, I rarely get the chance to sit :-))

Apparently she's not scared of bridges anymore.  She was incredibly fascinated by the "duckies" aka geese...

Daddy thought she needed help down the slide.  After this turn, she proved him wrong.  We have a little daredevil on our hands with our Anna!

Anthony still loves the swing!

This week, it looks like this!  No wonder our sinuses can't catch a break around here!  Anna and I played in the snow for a while during the boys' morning nap.  She was so excited!!!  We've come a long way from our first snowfall, she wouldn't go anywhere near it then!

She was really insistent on mowing, so we pretended it was a snow blower.

Exploring the yard and looking for "monkeys" (squirrels).

--- 3 ---
We signed Anna up for a toddler/parent gymnastic class through the city here in a few weeks.  I'm really hoping she warms up quickly to all the people, I'm sure she'll love all the activity!   She is constantly climbing things, jumping off of stuff, rolling around, spinning, dancing, etc...  She's not scared of falling and she's incredibly tough.  We're trying to wear her out...  The child never stops!

--- 4 ---
I'm going to have to start baking regularly with Anna.  She begs me to "help bake" or "cooook pweas" all day long. She's claimed this stool as her helping stool :-).

--- 5 ---
I hate to even say anything because we've had it pretty easy so far, but I like to document phases.  We're having some Anna sleep troubles.  She's been out of her crib for almost a year now.  She was in a toddler bed first, then a twin bed.  She treated them like a crib (I know, we're spoiled).  She never got out at all.  We would lay her down at night, shut the door and she would go to sleep on her own.  She's always had trouble falling asleep, it takes her time to wind down, but she's so active all day long, I'm sure it just takes her body time to calm itself!

The last week or so, though, has been hard.  She's discovered that she can get out of her bed whenever she wants.  So she does, while kicking and screaming and beating down her door.  She's getting up in the middle of the night (which she hasn't done since she was a newborn and one week around 11 months) and she's screaming at the top of her lungs.  I'm hoping it's just a quick phase like everything else.  Oh, and she can reach the light switch, another challenge.  She just helps herself to the lights!

So we're being super consistent, putting her back to bed each time without talking.  Lots of extra cuddles before bed.  And tonight I tried a nightlight (we've done that in the past and it always just kept her awake longer).  It seems to be helping, she's only gotten out once so far...  I'm not really losing sleep, but she is, and a sleep deprived Anna is not what anyone wants on their hands!

--- 6 ---
These two are best buds.  Both babies light up when they see each other!  Cecelia has the upper hand currently.  She'll grab him or swat at him and he just laughs.  He has no desire to defend himself and he's the least aggressive child I've ever seen.
Sheer delight!

Happy cousins!

--- 7 ---
We're finishing up our AWC requirements next week!  We have a few hours of training with our caseworker.  The nice thing is, we're the only couple being approved right now, so we can just do it at our house, during naptime, so no need for childcare or moving schedules around.  So, just like last year, ON Anna's birthday, we will be once again certified and waiting for more children!  We're beyond excited!  I'm curious to see what God has in store for us next!

I love the Anthony & Cecilia pictures! It is so cute to have cousins the same age enjoy each other!
I can't wait to take Luke to the park this spring & have him swing - your pictures have me all excited for that.
I wish you the best of luck on Anna's sleep schedule. Maybe she is just testing you? I think your quietly putting her back into bed each time is just what Super Nanny would do (and I would do, LOL), so no advice there.
Hooray for being certified on Anna's Birthday!!! Again. :-D How cool is that??!!?? :)

Cute outdoor pics!!

Bella's sleep issues didn't start until long after moving into a big girl bed. Now she gets up and comes out of her room (and into our room) tons of times. A few times a week, she sleeps all night, and sometimes she just gets up once (to go potty). It is not terrible but I am not sure if it will ever end. LOL
